Background

There are approximately 165,800 Indonesian citizens in Hong Kong, making Indonesians the 3rd largest ethnic group in Hong Kong.

​

From a bilateral relationship point of view, Hong Kong has emerged as one of Indonesia's major investors and strategic trading partners. 

​

Hong Kong residents are familiar with Indonesia as a country, at the same time many have limited exposure to a fuller picture of Indonesia's true essence, cultural richness and diversity.

Theme

A Bridge to Indonesia

About our theme

Indonesia Week Hong Kong 2024 adopts the theme "A Bridge to Indonesia", which embodies a philosophical perspective portraying this event as a bridge fostering strong relations between Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Vision

This event aims to provide more information about Indonesia to Hong Kong residents and to gather Indonesians living in Hong Kong in an event. In addition, with the adopted "A Bridge to Indonesia" theme, the event is portrayed as a bridge in fostering the strong relationship between Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Mission

The 3-day festival will showcase the rich culture of Indonesia in the form of Trade-Tourism-Investment forums, dance and musical performances, an Indonesian food bazaar, workshops and exhibitions.

This event is organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong, Alumni Association of University of Indonesia (ILUNI UI) Hong Kong Chapter, Indonesia Incorporated and The Hong Kong Indonesian Student Association. It is scheduled to take place at the Conrad Hong Kong Hotel and Wan Chai Harbourfront Event Space from 1 - 3 November 2024
